Marco Zumbé
Marco (* 1975 in Cologne) lives and works in Cologne. In his abstract works, Marco Zumbé deals with fundamental compositional and creative issues of painting, above all with the line as a formative element. Therefore he starts with a concise, gestural composition of various lines, that he transfers to differently painted backgrounds using the screen printing process. The motif as well as the background are characterized by repetition, rhythm and a picturesque musicality. By merging them together while the printing process, he gets to a complex, sculptural composition with an atmospheric, narrative density.
Marco studied in Hamburg and received various stipends from Artist Allaince, LES Studio Program, New York City; Art -Academy, St-Moritz, Suisse and Lepsien Art Foundation, Düsseldorf. His latest show “welcome to the jungle” was shown at Reiners Contemporary Art in Marbella.
